Cider with Rosie – 58′ Trad (with extended stern) 2000 Stowe Hill Marine
Cider with Rosie is a stunning 58’ trad stern narrowboat, with an extended stern deck for extra cruising room. She was built here at Stowe Hill in 2000, and is fitted out in oak faced ply with oak trim and solid oak flooring throughout.
She is in immaculate condition, with no expense spared when it comes to maintenance. The hull was stripped back to bare metal, rust treated, and 3 coats of blacking applied in Aug 2022. Various parts of the superstructure have been repainted, with the last full repaint in 2017, with little signs of any ‘contact sports’.
The large 5’2” cratch covered well deck features a drop down table, and views across the Stowe Hill bows. Access to the hydraulic bowthruster is from here as well.
Steps lead down into the 13’8” saloon, with a range of cupboards and shelves along both sides. A Morso Squirrel stove sits at the forward end, and an extendable table provides ample dining space for 5. There is plenty of room for additional comfy chairs if required and a port side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
Next is the galley (6’10”) and features a Vanette oven & grill, Vanette 4 burner gas hob, ceramic sink, Zanussi washing machine, Inlander fridge, and plenty of storage space. Side hatches both sides provide additional light and fresh air, and a means of escape mid-ship.
The 9’3” bedroom follows, with a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth (can be used as a cross bed if required), large wardrobe, and set of drawers.
The walkthrough bathroom is 5’6”, with a corner shower unit, Jabsco pumpout loo, and unique wash basin made by ceramicist Sidney Hardwick.
A boatmans cabin at the aft provides a traditional extra birth, more storage, and Classic solid fuel range. Steps lead out onto the large 4’6” trad stern deck.
The Barrus Shire 50 engine is housed within an insulated engine bay, with a hospital silencer to reduce noise. A Crowther propeller aids navigation.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired system connected to finrads along the boat, and hot water is supplied by the Eberspacher, engine or immersion when on landline.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 3x 120ah domestics, separate starter, and 240v power is from the 4kw Mastervolt Mass Combi inverter charger.
You’d be hard pressed to find another boat as well looked after as this one! Come and grab her whilst she’s still here!
