Chamois – 45′ Semi Trad 2002 Hixon Hulls
Chamois is a delightful 45’ semi traditional narrowboat built in 2002 by Hixon Hulls. The fit out was started by Kingfisher Boats and completed by Canalside Joinery.
She has had three owners since new and her condition reflects this; she has been really well looked after and is in first class condition.
The well deck leads through the sturdy front doors into the 9’ saloon. A cosy area with a comfortable two seater sofa, a solid fuel stove and various cupboards and shelves. There is also a 22’ Smart TV
The horseshoe shaped galley follows. Opposite the side hatch (which has a glazed insert panel) are the utilities; a 12v fridge with icebox, four burner gas hob, oven and grill, and the sink. There is also a microwave as well as ample room for storage and food preparation.
A corridor on the starboard side leads to the bathroom housing the tiled & curtained shower cubicle, a sink set into the vanity unit and a Thetford cassette loo (with spare cassette).
Passing the half wardrobe & shelves in the corridor, the aft cabin is the fixed double bedroom. The bed is 6’3” long x 4’ wide, there is storage underneath and a cupboard (with reading lights) over the head end.
The steps leading up to the semi trad deck area all have storage under, and the electrics are housed in the aft cupboard. The recently serviced Barrus Shire engine is under the rear deck board.
She is fitted out in oak faced ply and is light and airy. Central heating is from a diesel fired Eberspacher to three rads, and on board 230v is from either landline or the inverter. Hot water is supplied from either the engine, the immersion or the Eberspacher.
She benefits from a full repaint in Oct 2020 (including shotblasting & reblacking the hull) and there is a survey from Nov 2018.
She is a lovely vessel, well cared for and suitable as a liveaboard or an extended cruising holiday boat, and is ready to go.
