Cassiopeia is a charming 55’ traditional narrowboat, built in 2001 by John South Boats Ltd and fitted out by Starline Narrowboats. She has been well prepared for sale having had a hull survey (available for viewing in the office) and blacking in September 2022. With a pine fitout and carpet in the saloon and bedroom she has a lovely cottagey feel.
The spacious 15 foot saloon is entered via the well deck (cratch cover over). This houses the morso squirrel stove, a large sofa bed (storage under), lots of shelving and a couple of cupboards.
Next comes the horseshoe style galley with a very useful breakfast bar (with a couple of comfortable stools with backs) and a fold up extension to the worktop to provide additional food preparation space. Cooking facililities are provided by the Vanette 4 burner gas hob, oven and grill. There is a 12v Shoreline fridge/freezer and space, plumbing & power for a full size washing maching. The Alde gas boiler and Morco gas instant water heater also sit in the galley. A side hatch on the starboard side lets in additional light and air.
The bathroom is an off corridor arrangement on the port side. The loo is a Airhead composting loo, the shower is in a vinyl lined cubicle with a curtain and the basin is ceramic over a vanity unit.
The bed is a fixed double with plenty of storage underneath, a single wardrobe at the foot of the bed and a couple of cupboards overhead. There is also a pigeon box (with storm cover) over the bed to provide additional light. Finally the Lister Petter TS3 engine (last serviced in October 2021) sits under the boards in the stern cabin with steps leading up to the easily accessed trad stern deck.
Heating is provided by the stove and the Alde gas boiler heating three radiators. Hot water comes from the Morco gas water heater. There is a 1.6kw inverter/charger, a Galvanic Isolator and a bank of 4 domestic batteries (110ah) and one starter (90ah). All lighting is LED.
