Black Swan – 59’9″ Semi-Trad Nottingham Castle Boats/Kingfisher 2001
Black Swan is a 59’9” Semi trad narrowboat full of charm and character. She was built in 2001 by Nottingham Castle Boats and originally fitted out by Kingfisher, although she has undergone some recent and extensive refurbishment.
She was grit blasted and 2 packed (including the baseplate) in 2021 and had 8 new anodes at the same time. She also has a survey carried out in 2019 and the engine was recently serviced. She was also repainted in 2020.
The well deck is covered by a cratch cover (new 2021) and has a bench seat and the water tank in it. Steps lead down into the large saloon. The floor stunning, made from reclaimed pine and the wall paper and curtains (new 2020) match. There is a solid fuel stove, a large sofa bed, a 32” TV & DVD and various storage options. A breakfast bar with two stools separates saloon from galley.
The galley (all new in 2020) is generously proportioned and houses a 3 burner gas hob, oven & grill. There is a microwave, a 12v fridge, a sink and plenty of storage. There is a pigeon box over and a side hatch adding light and air.
The bedroom is next. The bed is a crossbed (storage under) and has cupboards over.
The bathroom (refurbished in 2020) follows and has a large shower cubicle, a composting loo and a ceramic basin set over a cupboard.
The stern cabin is last. The beds in here configure to make either two singles or a cross double. There is storage under each bench and there are a couple of cupboards offering storage options.
Steps lead up to the semi trad stern.
The engine is a Beta 43 and propulsion is aided by both the hydraulic bowthruster and the Axiom propeller. 230v is supplied by either the 4kw inverter (brand new) or the landline. 12v is sourced from the 4x110ah domestic batteries. The lights are mostly LED.
She is centrally heated by a Mikuni diesel fired boiler (serviced 2021) and hot water is heated by the engine, the Mikuni or an immersion heater (new 2021). She also has a galvanic isolator.
She is a lovely boat and ready for immediate occupation.
