Asmund is a 45’ ex-hire cruiser built in 1992 by Colecraft, and fitted out by Viking Afloat with their signature style of oak faced ply, with sapele trim, and sapele parquet flooring.
She has been well cared for, and the owners have kept an informative log of all works carried out over the past 15 years. She was surveyed in September 2017 (and re-inspected in April 2018), last blacked in September 2021, and the engine was serviced in March 2022. Spare parts and oil are on board to continue with engine maintenance.
The short bow and well deck are typical of Viking boats, with a port side locker and starboard side forward door.
Steps lead into the 9’6” saloon, with an L-shaped bench, demountable table, and opposing fold down bench. This converts into a spare double, or could be used as two singles if required. Storage is provided under the fixed bench, a cupboard and a couple of shelves.
The 8’3” galley follows, featuring a 12v LEC fridge with icebox, Vanette oven & grill, Belling 4 burner gas hob, stainless steel sink, and a range of shelves and cupboards for storage. An additional cupboard at the aft end doubles up as an airing cupboard, and houses the calorifier.
The off-corridor bathroom is compact at 5’0”, but comfortably houses a hip bath with shower over, ceramic basin, and pump out loo.
Next is the 7’10” bedroom, with a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double bed, storage under, and single wardrobe at the aft end.
Steps lead out onto the cruiser stern deck, with gas lockers either side and padded seats on top. The Bukh DV24 engine is housed below, originally used on a lifeboat, repurposed and installed here in December 2014.
12v power is supplied by the bank of 4 low maintenance 110ah domestics, with separate starter. A small inverter is connected to the gas hob ignition only, with no other 230v power supply.
The lighting onboard is halogen throughout, and she is centrally heated by an Alde gas boiler which also supplies the hot water.
Asmund would make somebody an ideal weekend or short cruising boat, and with a few upgrades could comfortably become a home.
