À Plus – 62′ Semi Trad 2019 JD Narrowboats
À Plus is a gorgeous reverse layout 62’ Semi trad narrowboat built in 2019 by JD Narrowboats as a sailaway and fitted out by her owners. She is a young boat, and in very good condition both inside and out. She offers lots of space, storage, comfort and is well equipped for living aboard or for extended cruising either on canals or rivers.
The stern deck (with pramhood over with attachable black out screens) is a sociable area with seats either side and a bike rack on the tiller arm. The engine, a Beta 50 with only 418 hours on the clock and recent service, is under the deckboards in a squeaky clean engine room. A full ‘next service’ kit is on board.
Steps lead down into the well equipped galley. Utilites comprise of a stainless steel sink, full size washing machine, 12v fridge (with icebox), a 4 burner gas hob, eye level oven & grill and a microwave oven. There is also more than ample storage.
Forward of the galley is the huge (16’) saloon. It starts with a breakfast bar under a side hatch (with perspex insert) and opens up into an open plan room with a huge sofa, a Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, a 40” wall mounted TV, an internet router and a storage chest and small coffee table. With the dinette area at the forward end, offering comfortable dining for four (and a spare double berth), this room feels truly spacious.
The bathroom is entered through a sliding door from the starboard side corridor. A good size room at 6’ long, this houses a spacious shower cubicle, a ceramic sink, a ceramic cassette loo (3 cassettes) and a radiator.
The main bedroom is in the forward cabin, housing two single beds with storage under (very easily made into a super size double), a large wardrobe and two floor to ceiling cupboards. Lots of storage. Steps lead up into the cratch covered well deck. Cover was new this year.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired boiler. The water tank is polypropylene and water is heated by the engine, the Eberspacher or an immersion. All the lighting is LED and the 12v domestic supply is from 300ah of LITHIUM batteries. 230v is from either landline or the 3kw Victron inverter. She has 610w of solar with a ‘Victron Connect’ Smart controller. All the windows are double glazed.
She is a lovely vessel; comfortable, light, spacious and ready to go!
