Yarwood 66ft Tug style narrowboat 2012 is a head turner! Yarwood is a 66’ Tug style narrowboat launched in 2012, so she is just 5 years old. She has a Steve Lambon shell with a fit out by Stuart Harper (and a partial refit in 2014 by Wharf House Narrowboats).
She is in immaculate condition. The paintwork is pristine, she was grit blasted & Epoxy 2 packed in 2015, and she has all the mods & cons; a 7.5kw generator, 3kw inverter, self seeking satellite, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, solar panels…all within a beautifully finished and well thought out surround.
The huge 9’ 6” tug deck offers an out door area as well as huge space under, housing the generator, Hurricane heating system, water tank, domestic diesel tank and storage. From here through the Terence Edgar painted doors into the 13’ open plan saloon. The fit out and finish in here, as with the whole boat, is lovely with white painted panels & sapele trim.
The saloon is open plan with a diesel stove & washing machine / tumble dryer accessed under the tug deck. The TV , with satellite & freesat, is neatly housed, with an extendable bracket, in a corner cupboard.
The walk though galley follows boasting style and storage a-plenty as well as a full size dishwasher, easy access fridge and two side hatches (with storage under the steps for wet boots etc).
Two floor to ceiling cupboards / wardrobes on either side separate the galley from the walk through bathroom which has a glass quadrant shower, ceramic Thetford cassette loo, two towel rails (his ‘n hers!) and a glass bowl basin over vanity unit.
The very clean and neatly organised engine room follows (with two side hatches) housing the Beta JD 3, inverter, satellite system, batteries, calorifier & electrics.
And last but for sure not least, the stern cabin. sympathetically reproducing the boatman’s cabin, this is simply a stunning and cosy bedroom with scumbling by Dave Moore. The traditional cross bed is wide at 4’ 6”. there is the drop down table and a little boatman’s solid fuel stove to keep the room toasty.
Yarwood 66ft Tug style narrowboat 2012 is beautiful combination of all the best of the modern coupled with a flavour of the past.
