Length: 60ft 8"
Hope – 60ft 8″ CTS Traditional Narrowboat 1990 is a beautiful example of a very well cared for narrowboat. She was built in 1990 by the highly regarded Canal Transport Services (Denis Cooper) & fitted out by Barry Wren. She has had three owners since new, and is in superb condition.
The gas locker is large, housing 3x 13kg bottles with plenty of stowage space left over. The 5’ 4” well deck has plenty of seating space and locker storage along with a drop down table from the cratchboard.
Into the nearly 14’ saloon. The boat is fitted out in oak faced ply with Sapele trim with Pine T&G to the ceiling. The saloon houses a large L shaped dinette which converts into a spare double berth, a Hobbit solid fuel stove and a drop down dining table which would seat 5 or six (additional collapsible chairs are stowed in the cupboard behind the dinette).
The galley is a horse shoe shaped arrangement. The worktops are Corian, the fridge is a 12v Shoreline, and the cooker is a 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill. The microwave was new in 2016. There is plenty of cupboard and storage space in here. A side hatch on the starboard side gives additional light & ventilation.
The bathroom follows, home to a good sized tiled shower cubicle, circular ceramic basin and a heated towel rail. The loo is a macerator pumpout (new in 2017).
The bedroom is next; the bed is 7’ x 4’, at the foot of which are shelves & a half wardrobe. The calorifier, inverter and pumpout tank are under the bed.
The engine room follows, housing the gleaming Gardner 3LW. There are side hatches on either side in here.
The boatman’s cabin is last. The woodwork in here is lovely; the cross bed offers a third double bed on board, and there is another wardrobe and plenty of cupboard space in here. The Epping stove is in very good condition.
Central heating on board is via the Alde Compact gas boiler. This also heats the water, as does the engine or the immersion. She was re-painted in 2014 (and new double glazed windows fitted), shot blasted & Epoxy two-packed in 2013, the engine was serviced in May 2017, and the side plate anodes were replaced in April 2017, as were the batteries.
On board 230v is supplied either via landline or the 1800w inverter.
Hope – 60ft 8″ CTS Traditional Narrowboat 1990 is a stunning boat with a stunning engine; nothing to do to her but move on, start the engine & go!
