Fuzzy Duck – 50ft Traditional Narrowboat was built in 1990 by Liverpool Boats and fitted out by Bridgewater Boatbuilders.
Starting at the bows; there is no gas locker or water tank in the bows, so the full well deck is given over to either storage or seating. The floor in here is tiled, and there is a cratch table with two collapsible chairs for outdoor relaxing. The water tank is housed under the well deck floor.
Into the 11’ saloon. The solid fuel stove is to the left of the step as you enter, and the remainder of the room is open plan with freestanding furniture. There is a two seater sofabed (with storage under), a gate leg oval table and one collapsible chair for dining. There is also a storage cupboard opposite the stove.
The walk through galley follows. This is 7’ 8” long and has the fridge, sink and 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill on the port side with storage aplenty in cupboards and drawers opposite.
The bathroom follows and is accessed through a curtain door. The loo is a Thetford cassette, the basin is a ceramic oval over a cupboard, and the shower cubicle is tiled with a curtain. There are floor to ceiling cupboards to the left of the shower.
The 10’ bedroom is next. Under the bed is completely open for storage, and there are shelves over the pillow end. At the foot of the bed is the good sized wardrobe next to further storage shelves. The Alde gas boiler is behind these shelves but this does not work.
Up a step on the starboard side into the stern cabin. The engine is housed under the floor in here, as well as the electrics and navigation equipment.
The gas locker, unusual but very practical, is housed on the portside accessed from outside. Much easier access than the normal bow locker arrangement!
Fuzzy Duck – 50ft Traditional Narrowboat has provided a lovely and comfortable abode to the current owners for the last 17 years, and will do so for the next owners.
