Eclipse 60ft Barry Hawkins Traditional undercloth conversion narrowboat. Eclipse is a stunning 2007 60ft traditional style undercloth conversion, built by the highly regarded Barry Hawkins with the internal fit out by Barry Hawkins and Norton Canes.
She is in beautiful condition both inside and out and has been very well looked after. The current owners have blacked her annually, and the Gardner engine had a bottom end rebuild in November 2016.
From the well deck into the nearly 16’ saloon. With 6’ 6” headroom, this has two good sized wardrobes on entrance, a large sofa (which serves as an easily converted double bed) and lots of cupboard and shelf space. There is a desk / work station and two side hatches, both with access steps. There are prism lights along the ceiling for additional brightness.
The Bubble multifuel stove marks passage from saloon to galley. This has space for a washing machine (not part of sale), cooker, 12v fridge freezer (subject to negotiation) and plenty of cupboard room.
Into the good sized stylish walk through bathroom with a tiled quadrant shower, cassette loo, and a ceramic basin over vanity unit.
The very clean engine room follows. The light offered by the two side hatches shows off the gleaming Gardner 2LW engine, recently re-built. There is under- floor storage in here, hence reduction in headroom, along with the calorifier, inverter and solar panel management system.
And into the beautiful and sympathetically reproduced boatmans cabin. Smacking of days gone by, adorned with scumble, roses & castles and with the traditional range (fully functional), this houses the drop down cross bed and drop down table next to the stove with bench seat.
She was the winner of the ‘Best Dressed Working Boat’ award at the Rickmansworth Festival in 2016, and is a first class boat both in terms of build and fit out.
