Boat name: Calliope
Boat type: Cruiser
In Greek mythology, Calliope is the muse who presides over eloquence and epic poetry.
The boat Calliope, is a 2005 – 56ft Liverpool Hull Cruiser Narrowboat. She was built by the Liverpool Boat Co. as a sailaway in 2005, and launched after fit out by the then owner in 2008. More recently she has been partially refitted, in the bedroom, by Narrowboat Solutions based at Lower Heyford.
She is somewhat of a blank canvass, which suits many. Enter though the bow into a huge open plan saloon which is 17ft in length. The solid fuel stove marks the entrance to the walk through galley which houses the washing machine, fridge, and 4 burner gas cooker & oven. There is also a side hatch here on the starboard side.
The corridor leads to the bathroom, hosting a Thetford cassette loo, a good sized tiled shower cubicle and a large ceramic basin.
On into the bedroom; with a fixed 6’x4’ double bed, under which there is copious drawer and storage space. There is also a wardrobe, locker and ample shelving providing plenty of additional storage.
The 6’ cruiser stern is surrounded by a comfortable Taff rail, and is over the Isuzu 35 4 cylinder engine.
In addition to the solid fuel stove, Calliope has 3 radiators heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired central heating system.
Calliope 2005 – 56ft Liverpool Hull Cruiser Narrowboat is an ideal boat for liveaboard or holidays afloat.
