62′ Trad 1992
Aragon is a 62 foot traditional style narrowboat built and fitted out by GT Boatbuilders in 1992. She was fully repainted in 2017, a new cratch and cover were added in 2018 and new oak flooring was laid in 2018. As a result she is looking far younger than her years! She also has a hull survey from 2016.
Entering the boat through the spacious 6ft well deck, you enter the large saloon with a Morso squirrel multi fuel stove and two comforable black leather swivelling captains chairs. There is plenty of space in here for a sofa bed instead if required. The ceiling and cabin sides are wall papered with a dark wood trim which gives it a light, modern feel.
The galley follows with a hob, and seperate eye level oven and grill, a microwave, a freezer and the 240v Whirlpool fridge. Tha bathroom is off the corridor through a sliding door with a vinyl lined shower cubicle, a large basin over a vanity unit. The loo is a Thetford cassette.
There is a fixed double bed in the mid cabin with plenty of storage provided in drawers under the bed and in the large wardrobe at the foot of the bed.
The engine is a Beta D3 tug which sits in the engine room which has side hatches on both port and starboard. There is also a pigeon box overhead offering additional light.
At the stern, there is a traditional boatman’s cabin, painted with roses and castles. This includes the usual crossbed (currently without a mattress), a stove and plenty of additional storage. This is a lovely, cosy room and the stove will help keep the helmsman warm on colder, winter days!
The central heating is provided by the Eberschpacher diesel fired system which heats 3 radiators and the towel rail in the bathroom. There is a 2.5kw Victron inverter and a Markon generator. The batteries were all new in 2019 and hot water is sourced via the engine or Eberschpacher.
Aragon has everything you could need whether for living on board or extended cruising and is ready to go once she finds the right new owner!
