Alice Mary built in 2001 is a 50ft traditional style narrowboat with a GT hull and fitted out by Whiskey Boats built. She has an extra large hatch at the stern giving ease of access and more room for sociable cruising. She is a light boat, with four 3ft wide windows in the saloon / galley, and also benefits from a side hatch. There are opening portholes in the bathroom & bedroom and plenty of storage on this boat with a huge wardrobe and copious amounts of cupboards and drawers.
Enter from the cratch covered bow, through oak stable doors, into the saloon. This houses a fixed sofa (which converts into a spare double berth), two rocking chairs and a drop leaf table. On into the walk through galley. Double sink unit and 4 burner hob (drawers and cupboards under) on the portside, with work top and undercounter cupboards on the starboard. The galley is an L shaped arrangement which includes a microwave, oven, grill, freezer and fridge.
There is a side hatch next to the cooker on the starboard side.
Into the corridor which leads to the tiled bathroom. Thetford cassette loo, ceramic basin, towel rail and shower with a concertina screen over the bath.
The fixed double berth bedroom follows, and the bed can extend cross ways from 4’ to 5’ if required. There is a huge full height wardrobe in here (which also has 5 big shelves in) in addition to ample drawers under.
Easy access into the aft cabin which houses the Beta Marine engine under the deck board. This cabin is very neat and practically arranged, housing the various electrical and heating systems. There is more room at the stern of this boat than many traditional styles due to the extra large access hatch. Finally there is also a pram hood on this 50ft traditional style narrowboat.
