About Rugby Boat Sales

Rugby Boat Sales is staffed by people who all own and live on boats.

The owner, Dominic Miles, has a wide experience of the waterways, cruising virtually the entire system on a 58ft 6in Colecraft for some years in the 1990s and writing as regular contributor to Waterways World about his travels. He also contributed a number of practical articles about life afloat. He currently owns a 70ft RW Davis Northwich Trader.

In 1997 he took his Dutch skutsje (a type of sailing barge), Gideon, to Ireland where he spent several years exploring the waterways, and wrote a series of articles about his experiences for Canal & Riverboat (now "Canals and Rivers").

At Stowe Hill, Steve Townhill runs the office from Wednesday to Sunday. He lives aboard a 60ft Mike Heywood narrow boat and was previously working with Oxfordshire Narrowboats before joining Rugby Boat Sales in October 2010.

At Overwater Marina, Janet Maughan, Anthony and Alex Davis are on hand to show customers round the boats on brokerage.
